The program celebrates music as a tapestry of diverse experiential paths that ultimately lead to friendship. The performers, though specialists in different musical periods and repertoires, are united by deep bonds forged over time through their shared musical journey.
At the heart of the program is the finest musical production from the late 16th and early 17th centuries, featuring works from the secular compositions of Monteverdi, Cesti, and both Giulio and Francesca Caccini, alongside instrumental pieces by some of the most distinguished virtuosos of the 17th century.
The program ideally bridges the cities of Venice and Florence, but more broadly, it is a journey of discovery through the various styles that characterized the music of the late Renaissance and early Baroque. It offers the audience a rich array of performance practices from the period, showcasing the exceptional virtuosity and theatricality that are hallmarks of early modern Italian repertoire.
